A greatly improved version of the 1Passwd Password Manager is now available. This release made huge improvements to the automatic form filler (Use Identity / AutoFill) logic and resolved several important bugs.
To demonstrate how sophisticated the new algorithm is, we created a form filler test page. For fun, try going to the test page using your current version and see how many fields are filled. Then use v1.4, and you’ll see a remarkable difference! The new algorithm Roustem came up with for automatic form fill logic is brilliant. In fact, Roustem is even investigating how to apply for a patent on his algorithm.
Note that in this new version we have renamed the standalone 1Passwd application from 1Passwd Editor.app to 1Passwd.app. After installing the new version, you should delete the old 1Passwd Editor.app to prevent any confusion. One of the consequences of this change is you will be asked to confirm access for every item in the keychain:

Be sure to click on Always Allow. What I did to make this as painless as possible was I confirmed all entries in one sitting. To do this, I opened the editor and clicked on the first entry. Once the popup appeared I pressed the space bar to accept the default (Always Allow). To select the next entry I press the down-arrow, which pops up the next confirmation dialog. I repeated this process by quickly hitting space/down-arrow/space/down-arrow. If you do this quickly, you should be able to do a hundred saved forms in a minute.
In addition to the bug fixes, note that we renamed the “Fill Form” menu item to “Restore Form”. The reason for this is many users commented that it was confusing because 1Passwd does have automatic form filling capabilities and save/fill form features. Also, Save/Restore complement each other.
In version 1.5, we plan to simplify the 1Passwd installation process and add the auto-update feature. As always, if there is anything else you want to see in 1Passwd, please do not hesitate to contact us or, even better, post in the forum.
