We have been busy over the last month with updates to 1Passwd and thought it was time to share with everybody.
First of all, the website has had a complete overhaul and has been greatly simplified. We also added movies to the site to help demonstrate 1Passwd’s features in order to quickly get people up-to-speed. We plan on having more movies in the future and would love to hear from you on what you would like to see.

As an avid Skype and Gizmo user I have headphones with microphone to get the best sound quality possible. I used Plantronics .Audio 90 Analog headset connected to the microphone and headphone jacks on the Windows laptop.

I’m not sure if the problems with Paypal have always existed or if something has changed, but just recently we have had an increase of over 100% in complaints regarding our purchase page.
Currently we simply redirect users to Paypal to complete the purchase process. This has always had the following problems:

1Passwd uses PayPal for payment processing. PayPal is easy to setup and inexpensive—it costs about 6-7% when you combine transaction and currency conversion fees.
At the same time, not everyone can (or want) to use PayPal. My biggest complaint is that PayPal has recently updated the checkout page and made it much worse by practically hiding the credit card payment option — the customer sees the prominent “Sign In to Your PayPal Account” form and a small ambiguous “Don’t have a PayPal account?” link.

We have just completed a major redesign of our beloved mac password manager website. We have had lots of feedback that the original site was just “too complex” and had “too much information”. In fact, my wife even asked me if we were affiliated with GMail!! (The original screenshot was taken on the GMail website.)
Clearly we we not getting our main messages across:
- Direct browser integration makes 1Passwd unlike any other Mac password managers.
- The automatic form filler technology outclasses the Safari & Camino AutoFill features. And ours works in Firefox too!
- Keychain integration saves you from having “Yet another database” that you need to manage and backup.
- 1Passwd is the only password manager that protects you from Phishing and Keylogger criminals.

A greatly improved version of the 1Passwd Password Manager is now available. This release made huge improvements to the automatic form filler (Use Identity / AutoFill) logic and resolved several important bugs.
To demonstrate how sophisticated the new algorithm is, we created a form filler test page. For fun, try going to the test page using your current version and see how many fields are filled. Then use v1.4, and you’ll see a remarkable difference! The new algorithm Roustem came up with for automatic form fill logic is brilliant. In fact, Roustem is even investigating how to apply for a patent on his algorithm.

I’ve been having fun with my new screencasting toys and have started making movies of my Mac password manager.
I decided to start with a video of how 1Passwd protects you from phishing attacks. I have made this claim before, and several people have questioned me exactly how a password manager can protect them from phishers. In fact, the majority of password managers cannot protect you. Any password manager that relies on you manually entering your information into a web page offers no protection whatsoever.
