1Passwd uses PayPal for payment processing. PayPal is easy to setup and inexpensive—it costs about 6-7% when you combine transaction and currency conversion fees.
At the same time, not everyone can (or want) to use PayPal. My biggest complaint is that PayPal has recently updated the checkout page and made it much worse by practically hiding the credit card payment option — the customer sees the prominent “Sign In to Your PayPal Account” form and a small ambiguous “Don’t have a PayPal account?” link.
Today we started looking for the alternative payment options.
RegMatch blog provides a great overview of software registration services and RegNow seems to be great option.
We are also looking at supporting e-gold. It is one of the oldest and most widely used electronic currencies. It also has a simple integration API.
